Exhibition November 30, 2017 _ February 11, 2018

Aida Andrés Rodrigálvarez (Barcelona, 1985) is the latest winner of the Arranz-Bravo 2016 Visual Arts Prize. The jury, which was formed by the artists Bernat Daviu, Eduard Arranz-Bravo, Miquel Gelabert, and the critic Albert Mercadé, they will reward the artist for the coherence, forcefulness and unity of their latest projects, focused on the open and sensitive work of capturing light through engraving, paper or ceramics, in such a rugged environment as Antarctica. In fact, the Aida spent about a month living in the most remote and icy continent to carry out an artistic inquiry: the capture of light in its most desperate and sublime stage. The exhibition to the Arranz-Bravo Foundation is presented as the continuation of that Antarctic project. The Aida expands and deepens in the fundamental artistic problems that arose: new series of polychrome paper with the luminous nuances of the earth and atmosphere; large paper sculptures, amotlladores the essential and abstract spaces he saw; and new series of engraving, based on the accidents and sensations that Aida experienced in Antarctica.
