4 November 2017 - 4 February 2018

| Free

Curators: Jean-François Chevrier and Jorge Ribalta
Opening: Friday, November 3, 7:00 p.m.

Barcelona view of Besòs is the result of the unusual collaboration between a photographer and a geographer to draw a singular “urban portrait”. Made between Barcelona and Paris, this project is a testimony on the transformation of the eastern maritime front at the beginning of the twenty-first century, seen from the periphery, from Besòs, towards the center. The first photographs are from 1999 and the most recent from 2007. Rather than describing an area of the city or a community, it was a question of offering a synthetic and general representation of an urban process as an imaginary citizen, but from a peripheral point of view : the one of the neighborhoods of the maritime front of the northeast. According to Joan Roca, “building a locally rooted but not” localist “vision has been a way of contributing to a new perception of the” local “and the” global “.
