The “BODY & GAMES Msssana School” project brings together and invites us to reflect on the world of small-format editions and works, those productions that dilute traditional disciplinary fields and take over the distribution and relationship systems with users. Works outside the hegemonic art markets.
“BODY & GAMES Msssana School” wants to offer productions designed to be multiple, prototypes or reproductions, editions in all types of support (paper, object, textile) for readings and diverse uses that practice creativity as a form of experience and popular consumption. An exercise of aesthetic utility.
The exhibition brings together different works in the field of author editions, related to clothing and clothing accessories (BODY), and materials / objects to manipulate and play (GAMES): T-shirts with texts, printed fabrics, bags, hats, handkerchiefs, shirts, paper cutouts, construction games, cardboard architectures, puzzles, dolls, etc. Materials that have an outstanding ideological place in the panorama of art, design and current craftsmanship. We can think of them as an exercise in practical utopia: renouncing the commercial spectacle favoring the proximity of readings and the free creation and circulation of works and slogans. Works that dispense with the artistic tradition to explore spaces of clash with reality: “an art without aura”.
The exhibition has authors, work groups and collective projects that are part of the self-managed art philosophies:
Alvar Calvet, Arte & Clothes (Ed.), Artscoming (Ed.), Barcelona Mata, Claudia Del and Jaume Clotet, Dani Montlleó, degenerated editions, Democracy, DosJotas, Eldital’ull Editions, Eve Ariza, FAR, fluorescent, Gelen Jeleton , Isabel Banal, La Grande (Ed.), La Mas Bella (Ed.), LaLata (Ed.), Laura Llaneli, The Salonnières, Lola Vendetta, Miquel Garcia, Social Fashion (Ed.), POxPO, Rafael G. Bianchi , Sandra March, invisible ink editions.
