GENERATION (H) ORIGINAL is a choral portrait representative of a generation of poets who have orbited around the original bar (H) of Barcelona. A space of encounter and poetic relations that over the years has become one of the neuralgic and transforming centers of poetry of the city and in general of our country. Poets such as Màrius Sampere, Francesc Garriga, Enric Casasses, Tomás Arias, Jaume C. Pons Alorda, Benet Rossell, Joan Vigo, Dolors Miquel, Carles Hac Mor, Eduard Escoffet, Miriam Cano and a Long and so on.
For more than 15 years, this fall of poets, Manuel Pérez as entrepreneur and poet Meritxell Cucurella-Jorba and Gigi Marzullo, was born as the first management team. Later, in 2002, Ferran Garcia until today, and Josep Pedrals until July 2015, when he decided to leave the management to move to new adventures, have been at the forefront of programming.
We have focused on the first 15 years of life of the Horiginal, which have been an intense and crucial stage for poetry in Catalan. A time when poets have been assiduously gathering in this place, and there they have shared concerns, they have vindicated forgotten poets who have had as references, and they have revolutionized the poetic panorama of the country with a new energy, young, renewing and Full of vitality, and thus, somehow, have become a generational poetic movement.
That is why we believe that now is the opportune moment to talk about this space and this group, from its contemporaneity (because it continues very active), and we want to do it with the strength of the photographic portraits, and that is a balance and living testimony Of this unique generation of poets and of all these years so important and decisive in the poetry and culture of Barcelona and our country.
