We present the winning project of the NEXOFoto 2017 Prize The place where I live of Raúl Kalesnik in Barcelona.
For the second consecutive year, Art Deal project collaborates with this international award showing in the city of Barcelona the winning project, this time an interesting post-photographic proposal that delves into one of the key problems of today’s society, violence and its reflection on minds of the little ones. Raúl Kalesnik, Mexican photographer, uses the new tools that Google street view puts in our hand to join them to drawings made by the children of his country in which they portray some of their daily experiences marked by the street violence.
This conjunction of media brings a new vision of the scene and in turn puts on the table a series of problems such as access to weapons, as feeds fear in the treatment of media and excessive presence of violent images that surrounds us. All these aspects condition our society and impact in a particularly transcendent way in childhood conditioning their future.+info
