by Franziska Ewald and Renata Bünter
Franziska Ewald reflects the inner vulnerability of human beings and their relationship to a world characterized by fast-paced life and consumption. She uses painting, print graphics, photography, installation and sound. The equivalence of materiality plays an important role in their work. Thus, figure and space interweave into a single sound carpet.
Renata Bünter is a sculptress, draftswoman, author and video artist. The central theme of memory is the common media, which is constantly evoked by means of sculpture, language, photography, drawings and videos. Closely connected to the memory are autobiographical subjects. Bünter creates time and memory images, which sometimes reach document character. The fleeting, fragile is typical of their way of working. Offsets are offered, hints are laid, but much remains consciously in the balance.
