Learning to Draw – From Artist’s Training to Aesthetic Education since 1500

Zeichenunterricht – Von der Künstlerausbildung zur ästhetischen Erziehung seit 1500In the final exhibition during the jubilee year to mark the 150th anniversary of the Graphische Sammlung ETH Zürich, the collection is being made available to a group of students from Zurich University, who will create an exhibition and exhibition catalogue on the subject of “Drawing Lessons – From Artist’s Training to Aesthetic Education since 1500”. The historical angle, which focuses on the teaching of drawing until about 1800, is contrasted with current methods at the ETH Zürich. This will be devised by Zilla Leutenegger and ETH students from the class of the chair Karin Sander.

Curatorial team: Michael Matile, Graphische Sammlung ETH Zürich, students of art history at Zurich University and Zilla Leutenegger with students of architecture at ETH Zürich (with accompanying publication in German)
