Nasca. Peru – Looking for traces in the desert

24 November 2017 - 15 April 2018

In the desert of southern Peru, one of the greatest archeology puzzles awaits its decryption: the giant soil drawings of the Nasca culture (about 200 BC – 650 AD).

In the Museum Rietberg Zurich is probably the most extensive exhibition ever to be seen in Europe on the equally mysterious and fascinating Nasca culture. “NASCA. PERU – Looking for traces in the desert », the visitors hijacked the south of the Andean state, where the Nasca culture (about 200 BC – 650 AD) flourished. In the desert floor of southern Peru, the Nasca left behind one of the greatest archeology puzzles still waiting to be deciphered: the huge floor drawings, also called Nasca lines.
