THE JAPAN PROJECT
The Japan Project brings together the Japanese composers Kotoka Suzuki, Shintaro Imai, Motoharu Kawashima, Chikashi Miyama, Takayuki Rai and Keitaro Takahashi, who will deal with various aspects of live electronics and, in 2012, in collaboration with the ZKM and the Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo. After the premiere in Japan in March 2017, the works will be played for the first time in toto in Europe and will then go on tour internationally.
UMS ‘n JIP (Ulrike Mayer-Spohn and Javier Hagen) are a Swiss ensemble for new music. They work as a multi- and interdisciplinary new music laboratory within a global network of composers, ensembles, researchers, programmers and festivals, and have been awarded 20 times internationally for their innovative power, uniqueness, continuity and excellence. With> 200 commissioned works, 800 concerts and activities in> 40 countries, they are one of the most experienced and active ensembles for contemporary music. They will celebrate their 10th anniversary in 2017, and will be in Tokyo, Palma de Mallorca, the Festival d’Avignon, the Barcelona Opera House (Teatro Colon) and Buenos Aires (Gran Teatre del Liceu).
