Special exhibition “100 Years of Gottfried Honegger”
Curated by Martin Gut and Galerie Romerapotheke
1 June 2017 – 31 August 2017

Gottfried Honegger (1917 – 2016) is one of the most important Swiss artists. With his work and his art, he not only influenced and enriched the city of Zurich but left his mark on the world scene.

Gottfried Honegger was a representative of constructive-concrete art: a philosophy that covers the individual manuscripts of an artist through clear geometry and monochrome color schemes. A vision of the world is due to the feeling that it is not about him as an artist, but about the society and the coexistence. “The concrete art does not want to make a picture, but a social culture,” said Gottfried Honegger, and in this sense his art must be integrated into the life day of society.

This is how we show this special exhibition at the Dolder Bad in cooperation with the Galerie Römerapotheke. In the Badi, where he bathed regularly with Max Frisch.
